8 States shun FG’s Supreme Court battle with Govs over LG autonomy

Eight out of the 36 States of the federation are absent today at the hearing of the Federal Government’s suit seeking full autonomy for the 774 local governments in the country.

Although they were served with hearing notice as required by law, the state were not represented by their Attorneys General or private legal practitioners.

No explanations were offered on their behalf.

The states are Borno, Kano, Kogi, Niger, Ogun, Osun, Oyo and Sokoto.
