Tribunal adjourns hearing in case against Nasarawa speaker to July 8

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia Nasarawa state on Friday, adjourned to July 8, 2023 for continuation of witnesses testimony in the case challenging the election of Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the speaker Nasarawa state house of Assembly as member Ugya/Umuaisha state Assembly constituency.
Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa”ad of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is challenging the victory of Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March, 18th state Assembly election.
The adjournment was to enable the 1st (Balarabe) 2nd (APC) and 3rd (INEC) respondents to assemble their witnesses following the closing of the Petitioner’s case with the cross examination of his witnesses.
During the resumed proceeding on Friday, chairman of the tribunal, Francesca Nnang Isoni, adjourned to Saturday, 8th,Monday,10th,and Tuesday,11 July 2023 to enable the respondents assemble their witnesses.
Representing the speaker was Mathew Burkaa,SAN, Ogu Oboshi Thomos stands for APC and Mua’zu Yahaya Maifata for INEC.
