JUST IN: PDP Rejects Tribunal Verdict in Kaduna, Reveals Next Course of Action

The Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the ruling of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld the election victory of Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP has announced its intention to appeal the judgment at the Court of Appeal.

Mr. Alberah Catoh, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Kaduna, who conveyed the party’s stance through a statement released on Friday, said a thorough review by the PDP’s legal team has revealed that the tribunal’s judgment falls short of the requirements for substantive justice.

Catoh further contended that the verdict did not align with established electoral laws, guidelines, and regulations.

The party has accordingly directed its lawyers to appeal the judgment at the Court of Appeal, Abuja, within the timeframe specified by law,” the statement added.

The decision to challenge the ruling was made following the tribunal’s confirmation of Sani’s election on Thursday.
