Security Situation Room (SSR) Advice and Appreciations for End of the Year 2023
First of all, we are planning a Dinner and Award Ceremony for the end of this year.
This to enable us know each other better and for us to give awards and commendations to those they are due to.
This will encourage others to do more and to let them know the society is working.
Most times we always criticise our security agencies. It is important we appreciate them for what they do. We will appreciate them later, but first let us criticise them a bit.
There is a great chasm between security agencies and the citizens they protect. This chasm comes with mutual suspicion and altercations. Those who run civil society and Government has not been able to find a common ground. Very few organisations like the Nigerian Bar Association has been able to create an in road to some security agencies.
The result of this chasm is the brutalisation of citizens and stereotyping of the security agencies. Government itself has done little in this regard .
The Security Agents are human beings. They are our fathers , our brothers , our sisters, our mothers and our cousins, more importantly, they are our friends. Same for the civil society.
The Police must be commended for opening the civil space through its many social media channels , police community relations committee, Police control rooms numbers , PCRU Channels, making available to the public the phone numbers of their officials , including their DPOs, OCs, ACs,DCs,CPs, AIGs and DIGs and in a way the IG, if you got his number, before now .
The grievance remedial method of the police is immediate.Truth is of all the security agencies,they are more open to the public .If you deal with other security agencies constantly, then you will know understand the meaning of t he e saying that *the Police is your friend*.You can have an unknown soldier , but never an unknown police .

I want to use this medium to commend the Nigerian Police Public Relations Department, the Force PRO – AC Muyi Adejobi.I commend AC Mustupha CSP Salisu, CSP Chijioke Kalu , ASP Tana ,all in one time or the other under the Force PRO.I however call for the Police Complaint Response Unit to be independent and let it report directly to the IGP or the DIG “A” , that is the only way it will have power to discipline officers and men .We also commend Zone 5 Zonal PRO -SP Momoh, Edo State PRO-SP Chibuzor,his Assistant,SP Jennifer.Dr Ernest Ikogwu.
We also commend the Chairman of the Police Service Commission -Dr Solomon Ehigiator Arase (Esq.),IGP Retired for setting up the complaint monitoring unit.Information gathered is that it is very effective.
The Nigerian Army has a Civil Relations Directorate , but it is not open to access by the public.We do not have the phone numbers to call.The use of a special dial , does not also help matters ,we should have access to the phone numbers of the Special Operations , Brigade, Divisions and HQ PROs.This will help in bringing down tension.There are however some Army men to commend like Genera Musa (Legal ) Major Aderemi Adebisi,Major Paul Orumor ,Major Kenneth Ifeagwu, Major E.E. Emagha, Major Akubo, Captain Bima and many others and others , who have shown tremendous Goodwill to the public .
The DSS has to open up its Service to the public .It is good that the current DG set up a new Directorate of Strategic Communications.It is however important for the Service to have a communications desk officer , whose phone number should be available to the public for information purposes.This will help reduce the frictions between them and the public .Commendations to the immediate past DLA Edo now in Abuja , Formee AD Akanu Ibiam,now in ISS, former AD O & I now in Sokoto Former Director X ,who is from Kogi State, now retired ,the Pen Doctor and my many friends there
The Custom Service should dismantle their illegal roadblocks on the way , especially the Ekiadolor Custom Road block which has the notoriety as “the most wicked in Nigeria”.That particular road block kills commerce and trade in Edo and Delta States .
Immigration Service should do their jobs , not only to be issuing passports .We must stamp out illegal aliens for our security.Commedations to Pillar himself,great man
NSCDC should protect public infrastructure more and do not concentrate on oil .They should be the ones controlling the Vigilantes .Commendations to OC Legal Edo,SC Ulinfoh and PRO ,SC Ogbebor.

Lawyers in the Police ,Army ,DSS and others should tell their bosses the truth.The Lawyers in the Police are trying .They are not well taken care of .They even use their money to do police cases .This must stop .
The EFCC can do better I want to say they have improved their human rights records over the time .They should however be more available for the people, even at weekends . The Correctional Service should first correct their abnormalities The Service should improve on their feeding to prisoners .They should also open up the space for individuals to help decongest the prisons. Special Commendations to Dr Elliot A Comptroller,Medical Delta.
NDLEA should improve on their human rights records which is very terrible .They should also reopen the DCP Abba Kyari Case ,which reveal the truth of some syndicates that run drugs In Nigeria.There is some thing fishy about that case .Abba Kyari was just made the fall guy .We need to unravel the truth
I also commend all those my immediate civil society space who has done well in charting a new cause .Special mention of the Femi Falana SAN and Mike Ozekhome SAN.Special Mention of the man who fights the battles for the ordinary man -Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor -Ultimate Equal, a voice of the Voiceless.The Warri Warriors -Aikpokpo Martins Esq and Kunle Edun Esq .Samuel Ihensiekhien,Martins Omo Ihekpe Augustine Ike Bayo Akinlade , Rafiu Tolani,Dotun Hassan, President Aigbekhan ,A A.
