NSCDC debunks news of Jan. 8 aptitude test
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has dissociated itself from a recruitment exercise notice circulating the social media space.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations, Olusola Odumosu, described the message as ‘fake
misleading and a calculated attempt by fraudsters and criminals to extort unsuspecting applicants of their money’.
The fake recruitment notice reads: “The Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) wishes to inform the public that the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) will hold on the January 8, 2023, in the 36 states of the and FCT. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) advises all shortlisted candidates for the CDCFIB Computer-Based Aptitude Test to start checking their email addresses/phones for their Exam Centres notifications as from midday.”
But the Corps warned the public not to fall victim of extortion and job scam, saying the NSCDC recruitment, enlistment and promotion exercises are coordinated and supervised by the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, Immigration Service Board (CDCFIB), under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
“We enjoin the public to remain calm and patient for the authentic update and information on the recruitment process. All updates with regards to the 2022 recruitment exercise would be published officially and made available to the public by the Board in due course,” Odumosu added.
