House Passes N2.1tn Supplementary Budget For Second Reading

 

The N2.17 trillion Supplementary Budget transmitted to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu has scaled second reading in the House of Representatives.

The supplementary budget which is coming barely two months to the end of the year and few weeks to the presentation of the 2024 Appropriation Bill by the President was speedily considered by the lawmakers at plenary shortly after receiving it.

Details of the proposed budget show that the N2.1 trillion will be used to fund critical issues of security, labour and elections in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo States.

The President also requested the consideration and passage of the 2024 -2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF and Fiscal Strategy Paper.
