APC natl secretary, Adeleke trade words over alleged N400m domestic cost

The spokesperson of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed, has berated the national secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ajibola Basiru, over allegation that Osun governor is using N400m to service his domestic cost monthly.

Basiru had alleged that Adeleke despite living in sister’s house, he is using N400m for his domestic cost monthly.

However, a statement by Rasheed stated: “We are constrained to directly deny the unfounded allegation by a defeated senator of Osun Central , Mr Ajibola Bashiru. If the former senator truly uttered this blatant falsehood, it is defamatory and reprehensible. There is no iota of truth in the careless and ill thought out statement as the governor is not drawing any domestic running cost from the government coffers.

“It is a shameful concoction from a troubled mind who is still bitter about his electoral loss. As a man of due process, the Governor operates within the bounds of public finance regulations.”

“He forgoes the usual security vote as a deliberate demonstration of his readiness for selfless service to Osun people. We take strong exception to an intentional fabrication of lies against a Governor whose popularity and performance rating are above eighty five percent.”

When contacted, Basiru in a terse statement said: “No comment. I can’t waste my precious time on incompetent people serving an ignoramous government.”
