Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, in collaboration with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has emphasized the necessity of aerial surveillance to bolster security measures in the state.

Governor Buni pointed out that the recent attacks on vulnerable locations along the state’s borders underscore the need for increased surveillance. The statement issued on Thursday by his media adviser, Mamman Mohammed, highlighted that Yobe State shares borders—both local and international—with Nigerian states and Niger Republic, making aerial patrols crucial for enhanced security.

Emphasizing the external infiltration of gunmen responsible for recent attacks, Governor Buni expressed his administration’s readiness to work closely with security agencies to fortify the state’s defenses against potential threats. He urged the public to collaborate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious individuals or movements in their communities for proactive measures.

Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar affirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to protect the lives and property of every Nigerian. He mentioned that the Nigerian Air Force has intensified its operations in Yobe State and the Northeast region as a whole to improve security. Abubakar also called on the public to cooperate with security forces, advocating for a collective and practical approach to addressing potential security challenges in their communities.
