Minister unveils artificial intelligence hub in Lagos
Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, yesterday, unveiled the Awarii Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Tijani, who spoke during the tour of SAIL Innovation Lab in Ikorodu, Lagos, said: “Through the facility, we can open the mind of young people. We live in a world where technology connects us and this technology makes us to overcome barriers. It makes the computer to think like human beings.
“For the first time, Awari AI is starting a company that makes machines for our indigenous environment. That is the future that we want for our youths. Ikorodu’s name will be on the Artificial Intelligence map.”
The minister said the hub would create hundreds of AI jobs and wealth would also be created.
On his part, Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Olatunbosun Alake, noted that through the hub, there would be value creation, adding that the economy will also skyrocket.
Also, the senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Tokunbo Abiru, commended Tijani for the laudable gesture.
