NBA Introduces Online Stamps Application For Lawyers, Outlines Procedure For E-Requests

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the digitization of stamp applications to improve efficiency. In a notice to lawyers, NBA General Secretary Adesina Adegbite laid out the new online process for paid and complimentary stamp requests.

Lawyers must now apply for stamps through the NBA portal by first logging in and navigating to the payments section. After selecting the number of packs, lawyers pay online and upload their branch dues receipts from the current year. Complimentary stamps are automatically available for those who paid their Bar Practice Fees between January 1 and March 31, 2024.

The notice stresses that the payment of annual branch dues is mandatory before stamps can be released or dispatched to various NBA branches nationwide. Lawyers who have pending stamp applications are advised to upload their dues receipts to complete the process.

The Bar Services Department, through barservices@nigerianbar.org.ng, will handle any requests for information or inquiries about the new system aimed at fully digitizing the body’s secretariat operations.

The move hopes to ease the administrative burden of manual applications as the NBA modernizes for efficiency. Legal practitioners seeking their official stamps must now follow the outlined e-process for prompt approval and receipt.
