Kuje area chair inaugurates cabinet, honours director of admin, others
The chairman of Kuje area council, Hon Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, Thursday, swore in his cabinet members with a view to fast tracking growth and development of the council.
Those sworn in include the council secretary, Hon. Mai-Iko Tanko Ibrahim, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Umar Musa; supervisory councilors and special and personal assistants among others.
Speaking while inaugurating the cabinet, Hon Sabo charged the new cabinet members to provide quality service to the people and warned against delay in dealing with official matters and abuse of privileges.
The chairman further stated that, to enable them function effectively, they must wear the robe of the civil service and acquaint themselves with the rules and regulations, financial regulations and other relevant operational documents that would enhance their performance.
He said he reserved the right to remove any of them that is found wanting in the course of his or her duties, including being disloyal to constituted authority, pointing out that they should not see the appointment as an opportunity to enrich themselves “but shun activities that are harmful to the administration and the entire communities of the council.”
Hon Suleiman Sabo admonished the new cabinet members to engage in activities that will bridge all gaps and enhance corporate existence of all persons, pledging that “all residents of Kuje area council will enjoy the dividends of democracy” of his administration.
He assured that his tenure will focus on rural and urban infrastructure, education, and provision of water, human empowerment, agricultural and healthcare delivery.
The ceremony also featured presentation of awards to top management staff of Kuje area council, including the Director of Administration, Comrade Dan. D. Ayuba, who received an award for efficiency in service delivery. Comrade Ayuba, who thanked the chairman for the honour, pledged his loyalty to the council and charged the staff to discharge their duties efficiently.
