“I will swallow you today as I am bigger than you in Jesus name” – Embattled NBA SPIDEL Chairman, Martins reveals what NBA President told him before the Meeting Removing him from office

The embattled chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Public Interest and Development Law, NBA-SPIDEL, Mr John Aikpokpo-Martins has accused the NBA President, YC Maikyau SAN of haven pre-arranged his removal as SPIDEL Chairman by the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Association before the meeting commenced on 29th February 2024.
Writing to members of SPIDEL in their Whatsapp group, Mr Aikpokpo-Martins revealed that the NBA President had earlier informed him that he “will swallow him today in Jesus Name” minutes before commencement of the meeting.
Responding to a comment from the NBA Gwagwalada Branch Chairman, Emmanuel Ogunjide Esq, Aikpokpo-Martins revealed that he reached out to the NBA President to call a meeting to sort out their disagreement and the NBA President told him, “he will see”.
The Nigerian Bar Association, has been engulfed with infighting between the Leadership of the public interest section, SPIDEL and the NBA President over public interest cases filed by the Section.
The crisis came to a head, when the National Executive Council, the second most powerful organ of the Association on Thursday 29th February 2024, removed the SPIDEL leadership for acting without authority.
However, in an interview on Arise TV on Friday, 1st of March 2024, the removed SPIDEL Chairman, Aikpokpo-Martins, has vowed to ignore his removal and continue to function as SPIDEL chairman.
