A confrontation is imminent as the NBA Kano Branch unveils the list of eligible candidates for the June 2024 elections.
The Electoral Committee (ELECO) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kano Branch, has released the list of candidates who have been cleared to run in the upcoming branch elections scheduled for June 2024.
According to the notice signed by the ELECO Chairman, Ismail Abdulaziz, and Secretary, Zainab A. Bello, Huwaila Mahammad Ibrahim and Usman Umar Fari have been qualified to contest for the position of Branch Chairman. However, Ahmad Sani Bawa was disqualified from running for the same office.
Several candidates were unopposed and successfully cleared for various positions. Absulhameed Abdurrazaq Ahmed will be the sole candidate for the office of Vice Chairman. Salihu Umar Kududdufawa, Isiakpobegie Edafe Jefferson, Ibrahim Baba Saliu, and Abdulmalik Mohammed were qualified as unopposed candidates for the offices of Treasurer, Publicity Secretary, Welfare Secretary, and Provost, respectively.
For the position of Branch Secretary, Abubakar Idris Tanko and Aminu Sani Muhammad have been cleared to contest against each other. Patience Arangeson Edamaku and Saminu Ibrahim Haruna will vie for the office of Social Secretary, while Hadiza Nasir and Ibrahim Arif Garba will compete for the position of Assistant Secretary General.
The ELECO has urged all eligible members of the NBA Kano Branch to participate actively in the upcoming elections and exercise their voting rights. The committee has assured members that the electoral process will be conducted in a fair, transparent, and credible manner.
The NBA Kano Branch elections are scheduled to take place in June 2024, with the specific date and voting procedures to be announced in due course.
