Organ Dealer’s Case No Longer With Us, Police React To Murder Allegation
The Abia State Police Command on Tuesday, said the case involving a suspected organ dealer, Andrew Amaechi, is no longer with them in Umuahia.
According to the police authorities, the suspect was arrested in the Aba area of the state on May 8.
After Amaechi’s arrest, reports emerged that police authorities allegedly killed him amid the search for two of his latest victims.
It was reported that the suspect arrested in connection to the disappearance of two friends, Celine Ndudim and Afiba Tandoh in Aba, Abia State, was killed while trying to escape when the case was transferred to Abuja.
But an Assistant Superintendent of Police, and the spokesperson of the Abia State Police Command, Maureen Chinaka, said the suspect was transferred to Abuja after his arrest.
According to her, the case was moved to the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Force headquarters on May 21.
She, however, added that the police command would not give further details on the case, as it was no longer with the state command.
