Gombe gov seeks Nigerian Govt’s intervention on dilapidated roads
Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has intensified calls for Federal Government intervention to address the deplorable condition of federal roads in the state.
The governor also drew attention to the bad condition of federal roads linking Gombe to neighboring states.
Yahaya, who also serves as the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, recently met with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Abuja for the second time in an ongoing series of meetings over the rehabilitation of the roads.
The dilapidated roads include Gombe-Bauchi, Gombe-Dukku-Darazo, Gombe-Biu, and Gombe-Bajoga-Potiskum.
According to the governor, these roads are vital for regional development and national connectivity.
Responding, Umahi stated that the move aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ which focuses on improving infrastructure to foster economic growth and enhance citizens’ quality of life.
