Police Arrest Leader of Oil Bunkering Gang Who Is Eight Months Pregnant
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of an eight-month-old pregnant woman who is the leader of an oil bunkering syndicate.
She was arrested along with her husband and six others over their involvement in aiding and abetting an organised syndicate specialised in tampering with and stealing from an oil pipeline.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the force’s public relations officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the feat was part of the efforts of the IGP’s special task force on petroleum and illegal bunkering, to boost the anti-oil theft activities of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to him, there has been tremendous support to the Nigerian Navy through the NPF marine unit, and the purchase of an additional twenty boats for the marine unit to be delivered soon.
The force public relations officer equally said that the IGP has also charged the head of all tactical units, to ensure prompt prosecution of suspects, and forfeiture of stolen items, products and exhibits.
