Yobe: Buni summons LG chairmen over security, education, revenue generation

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has met with the chairmen of the 17 LGAs of the state to review their performance especially in the areas of security, education and internally generated revenue (IGR).

Buni, who was represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, emphasized the importance of embracing peace among the communities.

He admonished the council chairmen to consider security as their number one priority and give maximum support to security agencies in their respective LGAs to avert crisis between farmers and herders as the harvest period commences.

Stressing that “there will be no meaningful development that could be achieved without education”, he directed the chairmen to intensify supervision in all the schools.

The governor equally advised them to improve their revenue generation and block any leakages arising from corruption for the betterment of the local governments.

Buni said reports from the local governments indicate that most of the workers are not reporting to their duty posts, warning that such attitude will not be tolerated.

He urged the council chairmen to intensify the monthly prayers for peace and stability in the state.
