Politicians must provide dividends of democracy to tackle challenges in Nigeria – Waziri

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and aspirant of Chilun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives in Kaduna State, Yakubu Waziri, has said politicians must see themselves as servants of the people that are always ready to provide dividends of democracy for the overall development of Nigeria.

Waziri is vying for the seat following the demise of Ekene Abubakar, who represented the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Speaking when members of Northern Christian Youth Professionals visited him in Kaduna, the aspirant noted that if dividends of democracy are well provided to the people, insecurity and other social vices being experienced in the society would be minimised.

According to him, “The youths must be properly taken care of in the area of qualitative education, provision of employment so as to take them away from roaming the streets without anything doing for a living. They must be engaged so that they will not easily be tempted into doing things that are helpful to them and the society.”

He lamented that employment to millions of graduates has really become a serious concern in the country, saying that lack of what to do has resulted to many losing hope and found themselves into doing things that are inimical to the security and development of the country.

According to him, government at all levels must begin to evolve policies that would urgently take care of millions of graduates that are roaming the streets with nothing doing and without any hope of what will come their way to earn a living.

“I have lived my life with my meager resources assisting most of the youths in their schools and also helping them get what to do to earn a living,” he explained.

Earlier, the national chairman of the Northern Christian Youth Professionals, Mr Isaac Abrak, had said that they are mostly concerned in ensuring responsible leadership at all levels by making sure that justice is ensured to carry all along in the schemes of things.
