Bauchi Police Arrest Notorious Criminal, Recover Stolen Motorcycle
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Abdulrashid Abubakar, popularly known as Abba, a notorious criminal linked to a violent robbery in the state.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Wakili, the arrest represents a significant breakthrough in the command’s efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety in Bauchi.
The incident occurred on November 21, 2024, when a distress call was received from residents of Guru Village. The report detailed an attack by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle operator, who was stabbed in the back of his head with a dangerous weapon before his motorcycle was stolen.
Acting promptly, operatives led by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Commander, CSP Tambuwal, intercepted the suspects on Jos Road. One suspect, Abdulrashid Abubakar (Abba), was apprehended, and the stolen red Bajaj motorcycle was recovered as evidence.
During interrogation, Abubakar confessed to the crime and implicated an accomplice, Adamu, who remains at large. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspect.
The victim, who sustained injuries during the attack, received medical treatment and has been discharged.
The police commended the residents of Guru Village for their quick response in reporting the crime and assured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety and justice in Bauchi State.
