Minister urges swift completion of Renewed Hope City project in Kano

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata has called for expedited efforts to complete the “Renewed Hope City” projects.

Speaking during an inspection of the project site in Lambu, Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State, on Friday, Minister Ata emphasized the importance of adhering to deadlines, citing the potential transformative benefits for the local community.

Acknowledging the progress made since his previous visit alongside Hon. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Ata commended the contractors for their commitment. However, he urged them to redouble their efforts to ensure timely delivery of the landmark development.

“Maintaining this momentum is crucial. Timely completion will not only fulfil our commitment to the people but also catalyze economic growth and improve living standards,” he said.

Minister Ata’s visit also included a tour of the Tabarakallah “Renewed Hope Housing Estate,” in Kano State where he noted recent progress in road construction.

However, he expressed concern over the slower pace of other aspects of the project, urging a more focused approach.

“The roads have been bulldozed, but the overall pace beyond the Detailed Project Concept (DPC) needs to improve significantly,” he remarked.

He explained that with Nigeria’s housing deficit at the forefront of national priorities, the Renewed Hope Housing Projects represent a cornerstone of the federal government’s strategy to provide affordable housing and boost urban development.

He expressed confidence that the completion of these projects will enhance the transformation of the nation’s housing sector and uplift local communities.
