Ex-Sports Minister, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi Resigns from PDP
Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the former Minister of Sports and a prominent politician from Kwara State, has officially resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Abdullahi, a close ally of the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the chairman of his Ubandawaki ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The letter, dated 16th December 2024, revealed that Abdullahi made the decision after considerable reflection and introspection.
In his resignation letter, Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the opportunities he had to serve both his state and country on the PDP platform. He described his decision as difficult, but one he deemed necessary at this point in his political journey.
A close associate of Abdullahi, Alh. Mas’ud Adebimpe, confirmed the resignation, stating that it was a personal decision. In response to the development, the PDP’s state publicity secretary, Olushola Adewara, said the party had no ill feelings towards Abdullahi, as his resignation was made without any complaints against the party or its leadership.
“We wish the former minister well in his future endeavors,” Adewara remarked, emphasizing that Abdullahi’s departure was based on his personal conviction.
