General Oluyede Charges Nigerian Army Troops to Stay Focused and Disciplined

Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has called on Nigerian Army troops to maintain patriotism and a strong fighting spirit in their duties.

General Oluyede made this statement during a Christmas Luncheon with soldiers at the Headquarters of the 9 Brigade Nigerian Army in Ikeja, Lagos State. He was represented by the Commander of the Corps of Engineers, Major General Philip Eromosele, who commended the troops for their dedication and hard work in addressing the nation’s security challenges.

The COAS also acknowledged the sacrifices made by soldiers deployed on various missions, especially those away from their families during the festive season. He expressed gratitude for their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, emphasizing that Nigerians greatly appreciate their collective efforts.

He urged the officers and soldiers to remain disciplined, loyal to the authorities, and focused on their constitutional responsibilities while working in a joint, multi-agency environment.

Major General Faruk Mijinyawa, the General Officer Commanding the 81 Division, explained that the luncheon was a gesture of appreciation for the troops’ relentless efforts throughout the year. He encouraged them to maintain their professionalism and diligence in the coming year and also prayed for their fallen comrades.
