Moghalu Slams Soludo Over Insecurity, Calls for Urgent Action in Anambra
Dr. George Moghalu, a prominent Labour Party governorship aspirant for the 2025 Anambra election, has sharply criticized the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his handling of the growing insecurity in Anambra. Speaking out in the wake of several tragic incidents, including the killing of Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Tobias Okonkwo, Moghalu described the state’s current security situation as “saddening and heartbreaking.”
The former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority expressed deep concern over the recent high-profile kidnappings of figures like retired Anglican Archbishop Most Reverend Godwin Okpala and Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly. Moghalu condemned these acts of violence and called for immediate and more effective security interventions.
He further accused Governor Soludo of appearing “unperturbed” by the escalating crisis, suggesting that the governor may have either lost the ability to address the issue or is failing to act with urgency. Moghalu stressed the need for security agents to intensify efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims and safeguard the state’s citizens.
