Imo State Attack: Army Kills Several ESN Fighters, Two Soldiers Dead, Weapons Seized
The Nigerian Army has reported the killing of two soldiers and the theft of weapons following a clash with the Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives in Osina, Imo State. The soldiers were part of a response unit deployed to handle an IPOB/ESN assault on the Osina Community.
According to the Army’s statement, the soldiers engaged the attackers, killing several, though the exact number of ESN casualties is unclear. Unfortunately, two Nigerian soldiers were killed, and one went missing. The terrorists managed to seize an AK-47 rifle and a tear gas launcher during the attack.
The military has since launched an extensive operation to track down the remaining ESN fighters, with fresh firefights reported in the Nkwachi Community. The Army is committed to eliminating the threat posed by the insurgents and ensuring peace in Imo State during the holidays.
