Military Warns Terrorist Bello Turji: ‘You’re a Dead Man Walking
The Nigerian military has issued a chilling warning to notorious terrorist commander Bello Turji, declaring that his days are numbered. Turji, who recently threatened to attack several communities in Zamfara State unless his arrested brother and other members of his group are released, has been branded as a “dead man walking” by the military high command.
Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, made the statement, reaffirming the military’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorist leaders and commanders. According to General Buba, the military’s operations have led to the deaths of over 1,000 terrorist leaders and commanders since January, and Turji is destined to meet the same fate. “From January till date, over 1,000 terrorist leaders and their replacements have been eliminated,” Buba said. “Bello Turji is merely a dead man walking. It’s insulting to engage in dialogue with a terrorist.”
General Buba further emphasized that Turji’s threats and bravado are no different from those made by other terrorist leaders who have since been eliminated by the military. “Before Turji, there were many who boasted that they would deal with our security forces. Today, they are no more. Turji will suffer the same fate,” he added.
The military spokesperson also addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the Christmas Day bombing of terrorist hideouts in Lakurawa. Some critics have questioned the military’s actions, but Buba dismissed their claims as “terrorist propaganda” aimed at undermining the truth. “The first casualty of war is always the truth. So, it’s no surprise that terrorists or their sympathizers are distorting the facts,” Buba stated, urging Nigerians not to be swayed by misleading narratives.
“The bombing was successful in destroying terrorist ammunition and logistical supplies, and it will continue until we eradicate the threat completely,” Buba declared. “This is a Nigerian war for Nigerians, and we will not be distracted by the lies of terrorists or their collaborators.”
As the battle against terrorism intensifies, the military remains resolute in its mission to eliminate key figures like Turji and restore peace to the affected regions.
