Murder of Three Children in Nise: Police Begin Investigation and Manhunt
The Anambra State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators responsible for the murder of three children of a native doctor in Nise, located in the Awka South Local Government Area of the state.
The assailants, whose identities remain unknown, reportedly scaled the fence of the compound where the family lives, gaining entry to carry out the gruesome act. After murdering the children, the killers placed the bodies in a parked Mercedes Benz within the compound before leaving undetected.
The incident, which occurred late on Saturday, was reported to the police on Sunday. The children, ages ranging from two to six years, were found with their mouths tied and their bodies in pools of blood, raising suspicions of a planned and deliberate attack.
The motive behind the killings remains unclear, although sources suggest that the deaths may be connected to an ongoing business dispute involving the children’s father, a native doctor and businessman in his early 30s. One anonymous source suggested that there had been unresolved issues between the father and some individuals, but the link to the tragedy is not confirmed.
Attempts to speak with the father for further details have been unsuccessful, as he has declined to comment.
The police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that officers have visited the crime scene, removed the bodies, and launched a manhunt for the perpetrators based on witness information. Ikenga emphasized that investigations are ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the full details of the crime, including whether negligence by the father played a role in the children’s deaths.
The police have assured that a public report will be issued once the investigation concludes.
