APC’s Ganduje Says Kwankwasiyya Movement Is Finished in Kano Ahead of 2027 Elections

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has asserted that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the ex-presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has no substantial support in Kano State. Speaking at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum Dinner, Ganduje declared that the Kwankwasiyya movement, which Kwankwaso once led, has ended in the state.

Ganduje, represented by APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, dismissed Kwankwaso’s claims of widespread support, stating that if not for internal issues within the APC, Kwankwaso wouldn’t have secured any electoral victories in Kano. He added that Kwankwaso should brace for the reality of the 2027 elections, where he believes the movement will be no more.

“The Kwankwasiyya movement is done. Even those who supported him in the past are now full of regret,” Ganduje asserted. He emphasized that the state is facing a distorted leadership under the current government and urged APC members to unite to reclaim Kano in the upcoming 2027 election.

“Unity is the only way out for us. It is the only option to achieve our goals. The current government has derailed the state, but we are waiting for the right time to take action,” Ganduje remarked, predicting the 2027 election would be a decisive victory for the APC, similar to “moving a hen away from its eggs.”

With tensions running high between the APC and NNPP in the state, Ganduje’s comments signal a fierce political battle ahead as both parties prepare for the next electoral contest.
