APC Spokesman Felix Morka Claims He’s Received 400 Death Threats Over Comments on Peter Obi”
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that he has received numerous death threats following remarks he made about Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television on Wednesday, Morka claimed that he has documented over 400 threats, with at least 200 of them explicitly threatening his life. The threats came in the wake of Obi’s allegations that Morka’s comments during a previous interview constituted a direct threat to his life.
Morka explained, “Peter Obi’s allegations that my words in that interview threatened his life have triggered serious consequences.” He added that the threatening messages included detailed plans to harm him, such as threats to shoot or behead him, and other forms of violence. “I will be submitting these written threats to law enforcement agencies,” Morka stated.
The APC spokesman had made the comment in response to a question about Obi being labeled a “voodoo economist” and “prophet of doom.” Morka had said, “Obi has crossed the line so many times; whatever he has coming to him, he should manage it.” In turn, Obi claimed that the statement led to a flood of threatening messages directed at him and his associates.
Morka clarified that his comment was simply a direct response to the ongoing criticism of Obi’s economic ideas, which he felt had gone too far.
