Governor Bala Mohammed’s Swift Leadership: Former Commissioners Appointed Special Advisers”
Barely 24 hours after their dismissal as commissioners, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has reappointed Abubakar Bununu, Prof. Simon Yalams, and Usman Danturaki in new roles as special advisers.
These individuals were among the five commissioners removed by the governor on the previous day. Bununu, previously in charge of security and internal affairs, Yalams, who managed agriculture, and Danturaki, who oversaw information and communication, now take on new advisory positions.
While still adjusting to their surprise removal, the governor approved their new roles immediately. Abubakar Bununu is now the Special Adviser on Multi-Lateral Coordination and Integration, Prof. Simon Yalams will serve as Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education, and Usman Danturaki will advise on Labour Matters and the Contributory Pension Scheme.
Governor Mohammed, through his spokesperson Mukhtar Gidado, emphasized that these appointments are part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership, promote inclusivity, and fulfill the administration’s developmental objectives. He urged the appointees to leverage their extensive experience to make valuable contributions to Bauchi State’s progress.
