NBA Ratifies New Stamp Pricing and Distribution Policy Amid Economic Challenges

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has formally ratified resolutions aimed at resolving the challenges surrounding the production and distribution of stamps. These resolutions were first discussed at a meeting between the National Executive Committee (NEC) and Branch Chairmen and Secretaries on September 9, 2024, and were officially approved by the NBA-NEC on November 7, 2024.

Henry Barnabas Ehi, the NBA’s Assistant General Secretary, shared that providing free stamps and seals to members is no longer viable due to the current economic conditions. The previous cost structure, which charged Four Thousand Naira (N4,000) for a pack of four sheets (32 stamps) since 2015, has also become unsustainable.

To adapt to these realities, the NBA has revised the stamp pricing as follows:

  • Two Thousand Naira (N2,000) per sheet (24 stamps)
  • Four Thousand Naira (N4,000) for two sheets (48 stamps)
  • Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000) per pack (4 sheets) (96 stamps)

Production of the new stamps and seals has already begun. Members who have made payments will receive email notifications once their stamps are delivered to their respective branches.

The NBA-NEC has expressed its gratitude for the understanding and cooperation of its members and assured them that the new pricing structure is intended to create a more sustainable and efficient stamp production and distribution process.
