Abia Government Approves Monthly Stipends for Traditional Rulers

In a significant move to support the cultural heritage of the state, the Abia Government has authorized the monthly payment of stipends ranging from N250,000 to N350,000 for traditional rulers. This decision was revealed by the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Okey Kanu, during a press briefing on the outcomes of the State Executive Council meeting held in Umuahia.

In addition to the regular stipends, the members of the Traditional Rulers Council at both state and local government levels will receive an extra N100,000 monthly. Kanu emphasized the government’s commitment to elevating the status of Abia’s traditional rulers, underlining their importance in promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage.
