Abba Hikima Calls on Emir Sanusi to Prioritize Nigeria’s Welfare Over Personal Disputes

Prominent human rights lawyer, Barrister Abba Hikima, has called on the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, to continue offering advice to the federal government on economic matters despite their strained relationship. “You shouldn’t stop advising the federal government just because you’re no longer friends,” Hikima urged.

Hikima further criticized the Emir’s silence, attributing it to personal fallout with the government. He questioned why Emir Sanusi, who understands the root causes of Nigeria’s economic struggles and potential solutions, should abandon his moral duty due to a broken relationship with the authorities.
