The operation, which took place in the Gudu Local Government Area, led to a firefight with the terrorists, culminating in their defeat.

Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the spokesman for Operation Fansan Yamma, confirmed the operation in a statement on Thursday. Alongside eliminating the terrorists, the troops recovered several weapons, including four AK47 rifles, 160 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a box containing 12.7mm ammo.

However, the operation came at a high cost, with five brave soldiers losing their lives in the fight against terrorism. The military honored their sacrifice and continues to emphasize the importance of community vigilance in combating such threats.

The statement further urged the public to report any suspicious activities that could be related to terrorism in their localities, highlighting the importance of cooperation between communities and security forces to ensure the safety of everyone in the region.
