Niger State Governor Unveils $2 Million Poultry Farm Project in Bosso
Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger State has announced the construction of a state-of-the-art $2 million poultry farm in Bosso Local Government Area (LGA). The governor made the announcement on Friday during his ongoing state-wide project monitoring tour, which took place in Maikunkele, the administrative headquarters of Bosso LGA.
Umaru-Bago emphasized that this initiative is part of the Federal Government’s livestock development strategy, with Niger State chosen as the pilot for this ambitious project. He assured residents that the poultry farm would not only boost the state’s agricultural sector but also create new job opportunities for the people of Bosso.
While outlining the various road development projects underway in the area, the governor urged citizens to continue supporting his administration to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives. He appealed to those whose properties had been affected by road expansions to cooperate and relocate, promising full compensation for their properties.
In his address, the governor also highlighted the need for new health infrastructure in the area. He revealed plans to build a new General Hospital in Bosso to alleviate the growing pressure on Minna’s existing facility. Additionally, he vowed to address the electricity issues in Kodo, ensuring improved power supply for the community.
Umaru-Bago expressed his appreciation for the ongoing support from Senator Mohammed Musa, who represents Niger East Senatorial District. The senator has been instrumental in securing funding for projects such as a mini stadium and a skills acquisition center in Bosso. Furthermore, he announced that 20 students from Bosso LGA would benefit from a scholarship to study in Singapore.
The governor also acknowledged the efforts of Baraje Kure, the member representing Bosso/Paikoro Federal Constituency, for his contribution to the development of the region.
Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba reiterated the administration’s commitment to the people of Bosso and called for continued support to achieve the people’s aspirations.
Senator Musa expressed his support for the governor’s policies, particularly his focus on agriculture. He shared that Bosso LGA had been designated as a Special Agro-industrial Processing Zone, which will create direct and indirect job opportunities, greatly benefiting the local economy.
Baraje Kure also pledged to contribute N1 billion to the development efforts, as well as provide farm inputs like fertilizers to local farmers to support their agricultural activities.
The combined efforts of the state government, senators, and federal representatives are set to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for the people of Bosso LGA.
