“Bello Turji’s Bandits Flee to New Hideout After Military Crackdown”

Loyalists of the infamous bandit leader, Bello Turji, have reportedly relocated to a new hideout within the Garsa/Kadanya area of Bayanruwa in the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Intelligence sources shared with Zagazola Makama revealed that the movements took place between January 19 and 20, with Turji’s followers—many of whom were seen traveling on motorcycles and tending to their wounded members—passing through key locations such as Galadi, Damaga, Rudunu, and Danbenchi before reaching their new stronghold.

The newly established hideout is said to be under the control of Jummo Smally, a former adversary of Turji. Smally’s location has historically served as a safe haven for bandit factions. Sources also suggest that some of the fleeing bandits were seen moving through Rudunu, Bankamawa, and Farfaru in the Faru District, as confirmed by local security operatives.

Local residents have reported that injured bandits are being treated at the Garsa/Kadanya hideout, prompting security authorities to issue a warning to health workers in the area against offering medical assistance to the wounded criminals.

This significant relocation comes after a series of intensified military operations in the region, which have forced Turji and his loyalists to abandon their previous hideouts in search of new, safer territories.
