Comrade Osita Obi Calls for Unity, Supports Soludo’s Transformation Agenda
Human rights activist and National Convener of the Recover Nigeria Project (RNP), Comrade Osita Obi, has made a compelling case for the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, in the upcoming November 2025 governorship election. Obi highlighted the governor’s transformative work in reshaping Awka and other communities, asserting that Soludo’s dedication to development makes him deserving of a second term in office.
In a press conference held in Awka, Obi emphasized that the changes underway in the state capital and across all 179 communities should be enough to secure Soludo’s unopposed victory. He pointed out that the ongoing projects and efforts to improve security were pivotal to the state’s progress and should be supported rather than contested.
Comrade Osita Obi Calls for Unity, Supports Soludo’s Transformation Agenda
Comrade Obi expressed confidence in Soludo’s leadership, urging political aspirants to withdraw their ambitions and instead focus on strengthening the state’s security infrastructure. After visiting several of Soludo’s key projects across Anambra, Obi called on all would-be candidates to channel their resources toward supporting the governor’s ongoing initiatives, particularly those aimed at enhancing public safety.
“I urge those who are aspiring to contest the governorship against Soludo to withdraw and use their money to support Soludo’s security fund. For now, Soludo is the best for the state. Let everyone drop their ambition to become governor. Soludo is doing great work,” Obi declared.
Obi Demands Apology from Father Ebube Muonso Over Criticism of Governor
Obi also addressed the ongoing media clash between Governor Soludo and the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube Muonso), regarding the rising insecurity in Anambra. He called on Father Muonso to apologize to the governor for his harsh comments, particularly his public labeling of Soludo as “wicked” and “reprobate.”
“There is nothing wrong if Ebube Muonso apologizes to the governor for his indecent remarks,” Obi said. While acknowledging that he had once planned to protest at Muonso’s church, Obi apologized for that statement, admitting it was made out of anger. He emphasized the need for criticism to remain respectful, particularly when directed at someone in a position of leadership.
Soludo’s Vision for Anambra: Why Obi Believes He Deserves Another Term
Comrade Obi further defended Governor Soludo, criticizing Father Muonso for his inflammatory remarks. He explained that Muonso’s public criticism, particularly the unfounded accusations about the governor’s character, were uncalled for and unhelpful to the state’s progress.
Obi stressed that while every citizen, including Muonso, has the right to voice concerns, it must be done in a manner that maintains dignity and respect for the office of the governor. “Criticism should be done within the boundaries of decency. He should be more respectful when criticizing the governor. The governor is an institution,” Obi said.
He concluded by reaffirming his support for Governor Soludo, citing the ongoing developmental projects in Awka and across Anambra. “If a man is doing well, we should support him for the wonderful work he is doing. I am asking that people give him time to complete what he is doing today. Let no one come and distort the good work he is doing in the state,” Obi stated.
