PDP Deputies Reaffirm Umar Damagum’s Role as Acting National Chairman Until 2025

A section of elected deputies in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reiterated that Ambassador Umar Damagum will remain the party’s Acting National Chairman until December 2025. This position was emphasized by the Deputy National Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor, during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.

Osadolor clarified that the matter of the national chairman and secretary has already been settled, pointing out that there are existing court judgments that support the continuation of Damagum in the role. He further advised party leaders and members who hold differing views to step aside rather than stay and harm the party’s reputation by undermining its constitution and the rulings from the courts.

“The issue is settled, and those who wish to pursue alternative views are free to leave instead of damaging the party from within,” Osadolor stated.

Further details on the issue are expected to follow.
