“Police Crack Down on Burglary Ring: Two Suspects Arrested in Akwa Ibom”

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals in connection with a burglary that took place on January 20, 2025, in Eket Local Government Area. According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, the suspects were identified as Moses Godwill Ndiong and Abraham Udo.

The suspects were arrested in the early hours of January 20 after the police received credible intelligence from a concerned citizen about a break-in at a residence in Okpokpong, Eket. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, dispatched a team of officers to the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police team was able to apprehend Ndiong and Udo, who later confessed to their involvement in the burglary. A thorough investigation led to the recovery of several stolen items, including two large LG televisions, a generator, a home theatre system, and even a Toyota Camry car, among other valuables.

The PPRO’s statement detailed the stolen items recovered from the suspects: a 65” LG Smart TV, a 2900 SUMEC Generator, a 42” LG LED TV, a 32” LG LED TV, a Sony Home Theatre System, six pairs of shoes, electrical cables, and the stolen Toyota Camry car (registration number KY984EKY).
