“President Tinubu Appoints New Heads for 42 Federal Organizations”

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of new Chairpersons, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), and a secretary for various federal organizations. This sweeping move, which includes leadership changes across 42 different federal agencies, was announced in a State House release issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, include leadership roles at some of Nigeria’s key institutions such as the Nigerian Railway Corporation and the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, among others.

Notably, the President appointed Hillard Eta as Chairman for the National Youth Service Corps, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi as Chairman for the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, and Abdullahi Ganduje as Chairman for the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria. In addition, Dr. Kayode Opeifa was named Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, while Raji Kolawole was appointed Director-General of the National Board for Technology Incubation.

The statement highlighted that while these individuals have been appointed to these prominent positions, the board chairpersons are expected to refrain from interfering with the day-to-day management of the organizations. Their roles are defined as non-executive, reinforcing the separation of duties between the board leadership and the executive management teams of the respective agencies.

President Tinubu’s decisions reflect his vision for restructuring and modernizing Nigeria’s federal organizations with an eye on efficiency and accountability. These appointments mark a significant shift in leadership that could impact the future trajectory of the country’s key public services.
