Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have successfully arrested two additional suspects involved in the kidnapping of Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu. The suspects, Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, were apprehended by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad on Friday, January 24, 2025.
The arrest was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement released by the Nigeria Police Force at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

According to the police, the suspects were intercepted while attempting to leave Lagos State. Upon their arrest, they confessed to being part of a gang of four, two of whom were previously neutralized by the police. The operatives also recovered significant evidence during the operation, including N2.25 million in ransom money, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.
The recovery was in response to the directive of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, who instructed the police to track down all those involved in the abduction of Mrs. Odumosu.

The abduction took place on the night of Thursday, January 16, 2024, when four masked men abducted Folasade Odumosu from her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State. However, less than a week later, and with the help of technical intelligence and Ogun State police operatives, Mrs. Odumosu was rescued after a gun battle with her captors in the swampy terrain of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
IGP Egbetokun praised the Lagos State Police operatives for their gallant efforts in apprehending the suspects, commending them for their dedication to maintaining public security and upholding the fight against crime.
