Police Recover Body of Man Shot Dead by Suspected Armed Robbers in Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has recovered the lifeless body of a man believed to have been shot and killed by suspected armed robbers along the Onitsha/Owerri express road.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the discovery in a statement on Tuesday. According to Ikenga, the police responded to a distress call on January 23, 2025, and found the body of a young man who remains unidentified at this time.
“In the early hours of January 23, 2025, police operatives from Ozubulu Divisional Headquarters responded to a distress call along the Onitsha/Owerri Express Road and recovered the body of an unidentified young man. The command is appealing to members of the public for assistance in identifying the victim and providing any information that could aid in the ongoing investigation,” Ikenga said.
Eyewitness reports and police observations at the scene indicate that the victim had been shot in the stomach by suspected armed robbers who then abandoned his body before fleeing the area.
The body has since been taken to the morgue, and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
