Atiku Hails Sim Fubara’s Achievements as Rivers Governor on 50th Birthday
Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has commended Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State for his significant accomplishments since taking office.
Atiku, in a post on X, congratulated Fubara on his 50th birthday and praised the governor for his evident achievements in such a short time. He also prayed for continued good health and impactful leadership for the governor.
“Happy birthday, Governor @SimFubaraKSC. Your remarkable achievements in Rivers State within such a short period are evident to all,” Atiku wrote. “I join the great people of Rivers to celebrate you, and I am confident that the years ahead will be filled with greater progress and prosperity for the state and its people. I pray that God grants you many more years of good health, wisdom, and impactful leadership. -AA”
Atiku’s message comes amid an ongoing political rift between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The two leaders have been in a power struggle over the control of Rivers State’s political structure since Fubara assumed office.
The feud has led to significant political shifts, including the defection of 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), resulting in the factionalization of the Assembly and the election of two speakers.
