APC Blames PDP’s Implosion on Internal Issues, Not External Forces
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed accusations from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the ruling party is behind the opposition party’s ongoing implosion. Morka stressed that it is not the fault of the APC that the PDP is experiencing internal turmoil, calling on the party to focus on its own issues instead of blaming others.
In an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time program on Tuesday, Morka responded to accusations made by former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and other PDP members, who have suggested that the APC is deliberately attempting to destabilize their party. He rejected these claims, stating that the APC is focused on its own affairs and is not engaged in any such activity.
“The PDP is imploding, and that’s obvious to everyone,” Morka said. “But it’s not happening because of what APC is doing. We are simply minding our own business, handling our internal issues, building unity, and preparing for future challenges. The PDP should do the same. Instead of addressing their internal problems, they prefer to point fingers and accuse us of undermining their party.”
Morka also took aim at Atiku’s claim that President Bola Tinubu’s government was paying opposition leaders N50 million each to disrupt Nigeria’s democratic process. The APC spokesman flatly denied these allegations, further asserting that the opposition should focus on resolving its own difficulties instead of blaming the APC.
“Only a poor workman blames his tools,” Morka continued. “In this case, the PDP has shown itself to be completely incapable of managing its own internal affairs. How can they claim to be capable of governing Nigeria when they can’t even manage their own party?”
Morka’s comments came as part of the ongoing public exchange between the two major political parties, with the APC defending itself against accusations from the opposition while emphasizing its own focus on internal cohesion and governance.
