“Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed: PDP Committed to Unity, No Room for Shame”
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed his commitment, alongside other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to ensuring that the party’s reputation remains intact and free from any shame.
Speaking at the PDP North-East Zonal Caucus meeting held on Thursday in Bauchi, Mohammed emphasized the unity of the party in the region, noting that the zone had been recognized as one of the least divisive and rancorous within the party. The meeting also saw a productive engagement with the reconciliation committee formed by the PDP National Working Committee (NWC).
As the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Mohammed highlighted that the zone is firmly united, with leaders working together toward a common goal of strengthening the party and ensuring that it upholds its integrity. He stated, “We bring different projects and programs that will directly impact the aspirations of our people. We are loyal to our zone and to our various chapters, including those that do not have a governor.”
Further adding to the discussion, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the Chairman of the reconciliation committee, assured that the PDP was fully committed to addressing its challenges. The goal is to reposition the party for the 2027 general election, with a strong focus on regaining power.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa also spoke in favor of the reconciliation efforts, describing the committee’s intervention as timely given the ongoing issues within the party. He stressed that the party’s resurgence and return to power could only be achieved through collective unity. Fintiri urged aggrieved members to come together at the negotiation table and work towards reconciling for the future of the party.
With 2027 on the horizon, the PDP’s commitment to unity and loyalty in the North-East region sets the stage for the party’s future political strategies.
