“Bauchi State Education Boosted with New Teaching Support Materials for Schools”
The First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has successfully distributed teaching and learning materials to selected schools in Bauchi, through a collaborative effort with Al-Muhibba Foundation and MTN Nigeria Foundation. The distribution ceremony, held at the Jubril Aminu Model School for Gifted Children, was attended by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, who represented the First Lady.
The event highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening the education sector, with a focus on achieving quality and standardized education across the state. The First Lady commended the MTN Foundation for its generous contribution, acknowledging that such partnerships are key to complementing the efforts of the state government in addressing educational challenges.
“This effort is a giant stride made by MTN and Al-Muhibbah Foundation for the education of our dear children. This is exactly what we have been looking for, and at this point, we have found what we needed,” said the First Lady. She expressed her gratitude to MTN for their support and emphasized that the government alone cannot meet the challenges in education, highlighting the significance of collaborations with other donor partners.
The Senior Manager for Regional Operations, North-West at MTN Nigeria Foundation, Ohwofasa Obazenu, elaborated on the learning support materials distributed to Junior Secondary School 1 students. These included custom MTN bags, exercise books, and umbrellas for the teachers. Obazenu reinforced MTN’s commitment to fostering an enabling learning environment, stating, “Education is the cornerstone of growth and development, and every student deserves access to the resources necessary to unlock their full potential.”
He also encouraged students to use the materials effectively, emphasizing that their true impact lies in how they are utilized to enhance learning. The MTN Foundation remains committed to future initiatives in Bauchi State, as part of its broader mission to improve access to quality education.
The principal of the Jubril Aminu Model School expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, stating that it would greatly enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the school. The students, too, expressed their excitement, noting that the materials would improve their learning experience and deepen their understanding of various subjects.
Al-Muhibba Foundation, founded by the First Lady, has long been at the forefront of promoting education and supporting vulnerable children in Bauchi State. Through this initiative, the foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving access to quality education for all children, regardless of their socio-economic background.
