A wave of shock and grief has engulfed Lighitlubang village in Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, following a brutal attack on the night of January 31, 2025. Suspected terrorists stormed the village, killing five people, including a man, his wife, and their child, as well as another couple. Eyewitness Moses Bankat recounted the horrific scene, revealing that the victims were slaughtered while asleep, leaving the community in a state of fear and uncertainty.
The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the attack, with spokesperson DSP Alabo Alfred stating that security forces have been dispatched to the area in a bid to restore order and ensure the safety of the residents.
