Kogi’s Ebiraland in Turmoil as Court Strips Ohinoyi of Power

In a surprising legal turn, the High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Monday, issued a ruling that removed His Majesty Ahmed Muhammed Tajani Anaje from his position as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. Justice Salisu Umar, presiding over High Court 6, ordered that the former traditional ruler cease presenting himself as the paramount leader of the Ebiraland community.

The court’s full judgment details have not yet been made public, but sources indicate that the case, identified as number HCO/05C/2024, was filed by Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others against the Governor of Kogi State. This ruling has sent shockwaves through the region, as the Ohinoyi was a key figure in the traditional governance of the area.
