Omo-Agege Gains Strong APC Support in Delta
The political landscape in Delta State was given a significant boost as former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, received tremendous backing during his recent engagement with All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in Ogwashi-Uku and Issele-Uku, covering Aniocha South and North local government areas.
At Ogwashi-Uku, the APC chairman of Aniocha South LGA, Pastor Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudimma, praised Omo-Agege’s leadership and highlighted his proven track record of winning elections. He commended Omo-Agege for engaging not just with his followers, but also with those holding grievances, saying, “He does not shy away from responsibility.”
Emphasizing the party’s strong resolve for victory, Pastor Sochukwudimma remarked, “Aniocha South APC is enthusiastic and hungry for electoral success. For years, we’ve been in opposition, but with your proven strategy, we believe victory is within reach.” He urged Senator Omo-Agege to replicate his successful electoral tactics used in Ughelli North and Delta Central.
Former Delta State Commissioner and APC House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Dr. Tony Nwaka, also spoke in Omo-Agege’s favor. He referred to the former Senate Deputy President as a “grassroots general,” emphasizing his exceptional ability to mobilize people and lead effective campaigns. Dr. Nwaka added, “Politics is about mobilizing the people, and there is nothing more heartwarming than having a proven general leading you into battle.”
He went on to note that those who have not contested elections as candidates may not fully appreciate Omo-Agege’s strategic approach, saying, “He who wears the shoes knows where they pinch.” He also shared his own success in the 2023 election, where he won 5/5 in his polling unit, urging the public to support Omo-Agege as a leader committed to progressive governance.
Prominent APC figures like Dr. Antonia Ashiedu and Dr. Ifeanyi Odikpo also praised Omo-Agege’s leadership. Dr. Odikpo cautioned Omo-Agege to steer clear of transactional politicians and instead focus on the common people with the votes, while Dr. Ashiedu reflected on past challenges, reiterating her confidence in his ability to win: “Omo-Agege is a political field marshal who knows how to win. If he runs in 2027, Deltans should rally behind him.”
At Issele-Uku, Senator Omo-Agege received an electrifying reception, with traditional dancers and women from Onicha-Olona expressing their excitement and appreciation. The vibrant welcome reflected the growing support for Omo-Agege and his continued commitment to Delta State’s development.
As Omo-Agege strengthens the APC’s base in Aniocha South and North, political analysts are optimistic that his grassroots strategy will play a key role in shaping the party’s future electoral successes in Delta State.
