“Boko Haram IED Attack Kills Two in Adamawa as Vehicle Hits Explosives”
Two individuals were killed and several others injured when Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists detonated on Tuesday along a route between Harang and Jibhuhwui villages in Hawul Local Government Area (LGA), Borno State, and Garkida market in Adamawa State.
The victims were traveling to the market when their vehicle struck the explosives, resulting in a deadly blast. Borno State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso, confirmed the attack, stating that six people were in the vehicle at the time of the explosion.
A Deadly Attack
The explosion claimed the life of 25-year-old Adama Yakubu, who died instantly. The remaining passengers sustained injuries and were swiftly rushed to a hospital for treatment. The IEDs are suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram militants, known for targeting civilian areas with such devices.
Security Forces on Alert
In the wake of the attack, security forces have intensified efforts to secure the area, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. ASP Daso further urged the community to cooperate with security personnel to help prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of the public.
