“Julius Abure: South-East Must Realign for 2027 Presidential Victory”

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Labour Party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, has reassured the South-East that the party is fully committed to helping them realize their ambition of leading Nigeria. Abure expressed no regrets about zoning the party’s presidential ticket to the South-East, emphasizing the industriousness, resilience, and unity of the Igbos.

Speaking at a rally organized by the party’s South-East members ahead of the Abuja Area Council elections next year, Abure highlighted that the South-East must form new alliances with other regions to make the dream of ruling Nigeria a reality.

Abure reflected on the 2023 election, where Peter Obi, an Igbo son, represented the Labour Party. Although Obi came third behind President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Abure noted how the experience changed his perception of the South-East. He had previously believed the Igbos were not united, but through Obi’s candidacy and his campaign experience, he discovered the strength and unity of the Igbo people.

The Labour Party remains steadfast in its support for Ndigbo, with Abure assuring that the party will continue to back the South-East’s presidential aspirations. He emphasized the need for the Igbos to reassess their strategy and strengthen their connections with other regions, reinforcing the party’s dedication to supporting them in their quest for the nation’s leadership in the future.
